The first calculator came from me standing in the workshop, trying to remember where to cut a board for two matching French cleats. The maths is not difficult, but I could not remember it and did not fancy hunting through forum posts with the job waiting.
That is the idea here: small calculators for jobs I actually run into, and for anyone else who has forgotten the formula or just wants to check their working. If one saves you a bit of head-scratching, it has done its job.
They are still numbers on a screen, not a safety check. Measure the real stock, follow your machine manufacturer's instructions and verify the setup with a test piece before cutting valuable material.
